When the weekend rolls around I usually get really excited to go out for happy hour on Friday. This week, however, it has been raining non stop. When it rains like this the last thing I want to do is get in my car and drive somewhere. So, I brought happy hour home. These Prosciutto Pear Bites are a little bit different thanks to the gorgonzola cheese and truffle honey. The bonus is they take about 20 minutes to prepare.
Ingredients
- 2 pears
- prosciutto strips
- 1 wedge of gorgonzola cheese
- 1 tablespoon truffle honey
Method
- Heat oven to 375 and line a sheet pan with parchment paper
- Slice pears about 1 inch thick
- Cut cheese into slices equal or smaller in thickness to the pears
- Layer 1 piece of cheese on top of a pear slice and wrap in one prosciutto strip
- Repeat with all of the pear slices
- Line the wrapped pears up on the sheet pan with a couple inches between them (make sure the cheese is on top not facing the pan)
- Bake for 10 minutes
- When 10 minutes is up remove them from the oven (they will have leaked and that is okay)
- Let cool for 5 minutes before plating
