Chai Pear Baked Oatmeal

I’m over here pretending it’s fall and the temperature outside is under 90 degrees. Who’s with me?

The chai spice blend in this oatmeal will make your whole house smell divine. Even if the outside temperature is still declaring summer your inside house will feel like fall.

You can purchase a chai spice blend at the store or use my recipe below with ingredients you probably already have in your pantry:

Ingredients

  • 3 teaspoons chai spice blend
  • 3 cups old fashioned oats
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1 1/2 cup almond milk
  • 4 roughly cubed pears
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method

  1. Heat oven to 375 degrees
  2. Toss pears with 1 teaspoon of chai spice and set aside
  3. Combine oats, 2 teaspoons of chai spice, baking powder, chia seeds, and salt in a bowl
  4. In a separate bowl whisk together maple syrup, eggs, milk, and vanilla extract
  5. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry and mix to combine
  6. Mix in the pears
  7. Pour the mixture into a greased 9×9 inch baking pan and bake for 30 minutes
  8. Let cool and then serve with more maple syrup on top
